Amethyst is one of the main stones that aids men and women as they gain clarity, sobriety, and maturity in their lives. It helps people meditate and clear their minds while sorting out one's "baggage" as well as their roots of any possible addiction. It also heightens one's intuition and helps connect people to their higher self. Not to mention, it is a beautiful, royal purple that speaks to God's creativity! 
 
Attached at the bottom of the necklace is a pendant with a cut-out of the lotus flower. The lotus is a beautiful symbol of those recovering and blossoming into rich, meaningful lives. I have copied and pasted a description of the lotus by a wonderful author, Stephanie Covington. This is from the book, A Women's Way through the Twelve Steps which I highly recommend.
